Roberta and Tandara in a bit of a dance as their teammates line up for the post-match photo after Brazil's win over Japan in the first semifinal of the 2021 VNL.

Brazil outlasted Japan in four sets to grab the first ticket to the final of the 2021 FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League.

Here's the reaction after the game, from the virtual Mixed Zone:

Sarina Koga (Japan): "I was supposed to play better in offense, to score more points today, because it's a difficult situation for the team when I can't score. Today we played well in the third set. In general, we had a great serve, and we had more chances for our offence - it's positive for our improvement. Tomorrow we'll play our last match at the tournament and it will be a difficult and very very important game. We need more good service, more good combinations, defence and we have to improve our offense."

Gabi Guimaraes (Brazil): "I'm really happy and really proud of my team. We all know how difficult it is to play against Japan - big congratulations to them, because they never give up. They have an amazing block-defence system, they are not that tall but you can see that it's really difficult to put the ball on the floor. I'm really proud of my team, because we had many moments when we couldn't do our best, but players from the bench were coming in and giving us energy in the moment when we were struggling a little bit. We have to play like this, aggressive all the time, keeping the balance in all the elements. These are the finals of the VNL, so it's never easy to play. And now it's time for gold. We had an opportunity two years ago, we were leading 2-0 with the USA, but we didn't manage to win this game. We don't know yet who we will play tomorrow, but for sure we want to win and take this gold medal home for all Brazilians."
