Magdalena Stysiak delivered a match high of 35 points for Poland against Japan at the 2021 FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League on Tuesday, becoming the fourth player this season to join the prestigious 'club' of players that have scored 30 points or more in a single VNL match.

The 20-year-old opposite got 33 kills from 58 swings (57%) and added two blocks for the tally - but it was not enough to see Poland through, as Japan performed a stunning full comeback to win the match 3-2 (22-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 16-14).

Belgium's Britt Herbots already has two entries in the list after thundering 33 points against the Dominican Republic and 32 points against Korea.

China's Zhang Changning fired off 37 points in her team's defeat to Belgium for a new entry at number five and Nataliya Goncharova became the first Russian on the list with 31 points as she spearheaded a win over the Dominican Republic.

Stysiak is the second Polish player to feature in the list.

Malwina Smarzek has an incredible ten entries in the list and holds the all-time VNL best of 42 points in Poland's four-set win over Bulgaria in 2019. But Smarzek sat out the match against Japan on Tuesday, remaining on the bench.
