Kim is a true professional and demonstrates her spirit and drive every match. One of the hardest working players on the court, her commitment is something fans are excited to see. And Kim never disappoints as she continuously delivers her best in every situation.
The Korean knows that she has to work hard to accomplish goals and has to fight hard until success is achieved. That is leadership in the truest sense.
But the most admirable thing about Kim is her authentic and down-to-earth personality, which epitomises the values that volleyball stands for.
As she was able to change her life through sport, Kim uses volleyball as her platform to inspire kids in Korea and the world.
“Volleyball gave everything to me,” Kim said. “I know that many kids look up to me and aspire to play volleyball because of me, so it’s good that I am able to give back to the sport in this way.”
Back home she has her own sports academy called KYK (her initials), a fitting tribute to her legacy, and children from her country who aspire to be like her are able to learn from her.
At the VNL, Kim is leading the way for her younger teammates. A true role model, she supports them on and off the court. With many new faces in the Korean squad this year, she knows that there are many adjustments to be made, but always encourages her teammates to be better.
