After the most dramatic of finals in 2019, when they fell to USA after enjoying a two-set lead, the women's national team of Brazil returns for the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League in a bid to put an end to their North American rivals' monopoly of the titles.

The men's team of Brazil never made it to the podium in the two editions so far of the VNL, losing both times in the bronze medal matches, to USA in 2018 at Lille and to Poland in 2019 at Chicago, so are looking to remedy that with a medal this time when the competition returns as of next month in the secure 'bubble' at the Italian Adriatic resort of Rimini.

Expect such stars as setter Macris Carneiro, outside hitter Gabi Guimaraes and middle blocker Ana Beatriz 'Bia' Correa, who were on the 2019 Women's VNL Dream Team to be back again this year. And in the men's competition look out for some of the top Brazilian players such as Douglas Souza and Ricardo Lucarelli.
