One of the fastest-growing women's volleyball national leagues on the planet, the Polish Tauron Liga is set to start its 2025-2026 season next weekend, with the first round of regular season matches.

Contested by the nation's 12 best teams, the Polish League reunites some of the stars of the country's national team and also top international players, who compete in a high-level and exciting race for the title that has had different winners in each of the last three seasons. In 2025-2026, as it happened last season, all matches will be streamed live on VBTV.

The regular season in Poland starts on October 9 and extends until March 21. The top eight teams advance to the playoffs, which have the quarterfinals and the semifinals played in best-of-three series and the Finals held in a best-of-five format.

With the first serve coming in just a few days, it's time to know about the 12 participant teams - we covered six of them a few days ago, and now we get to the remaining six:

Metalkas Pałac Bydgoszcz

The winners of the 1992-1993 edition of the Tauron Liga, Pałac finished sixth last season. Italian head coach Martino Volpini continues with the team, which was able to keep setter Marta Łyczakowska, outside hitters Pola Nowakowska and Wiktoria Makarewicz, middle blocker Dominika Witowska and libero Monika Jagła. Pałac saw six players leave in the offseason, most notably setter Kseniya Kuryerova, opposite Paola Martínez Vela and middle blockers Svitlana Dorsman and Wiktoria Paluszkiewicz, and took different paths to replace them, signing setter Julia Sobalska, opposite Monika Głodzińska and middle blocker Marta Pol from other Polish teams and bringing French opposite Victoria Foucher and Greek outside hitter Élena Báka from abroad.

MOYA Radomka Radom

Radomka Radom finished fifth in the Tauron Liga 2024-2025, their second-best result in ten appearances. Head coach Jakub Głuszak continues for another season, but he lost three of the pillars of the team's last campaign after Argentine setter Victoria Mayer and Croatian outside hitter Laura Miloš transferred to France and middle blocker Kamila Witkowska retired. Key returning players for Radomka Radom will be opposite Monika Gałkowska, outside hitter Dagmara Dąbrowska and middle blocker Martyna Piotrowska. The team went heavily into the international market to strengthen their squad, signing Ukrainian Oleksandra Molchanova and Hungarian Brigitta Petrenkó at setter, Swiss Julie Lengweiler at outside hitter and Ukrainians Kateryna Zhylinska and Krystyna Niemtseva at middle blocker and libero, respectively.

PGE Budowlani Łódź

Budowlani Łódź finished third in the Tauron Liga last season, making their fourth-straight semifinal appearance in the event. Besides returning head coach Maciej Biernat, the team succeeded at keeping most of their key players, re-signing setter Alicja Grabka, Polish national team outside hitter Paulina Damaske, Slovenian middle blocker Saša Planinšec and libero Justyna Łysiak. Serbian outside hitter Jelena Blagojević and Italian opposite Terry Enweonwu are the team's most relevant departures, and Budowlani Łódź replaced them with two international players, adding Swiss opposite Maja Storck and Brazilian opposite Bruna Honório.

Sokół & Hagric Mogilno

Sokół's first-ever appearance in the Tauron Liga has given the team the right to return in 2025-2026 after they finished 11th and avoided relegation. Head coach Mateusz Grabda, who took the team over during their campaign and helped them stay in the elite, continues, but there were big personnel changes, with as many as 11 departures, including the retirements of middle blocker Zuzanna Efimienko-Młotkowska, opposite Sandra Barambas and libero Julita Rafałko. Having opposite Agnieszka Cur-Słomka, outside hitter Sandra Świętoń, middle blocker Paulina Brzoska and libero Karolina Pancewicz as their only returning players, Sokół were very active in the transfer market, adding as many as eight players, most notably setter Aleksandra Stachowicz, Greek outside hitter María Tsitsigiánni and middle blocker Aleksandra Cygan.

UNI Opole

Present in the last four editions of the Tauron Liga, UNI Opole ranked ninth in 2024-2025. At the head coach spot, Bartłomiej Dąbrowski steps up to replace Italian Nicola Vettori, knowing that some changes will be needed after seven players left the team, including American setter Piper Matsumoto, outside hitter Marta Pamuła, middle blocker Aleksandra Cygan and libero Adriana Adamek. The returns of opposite Katarzyna Zaroślinska-Król, American outside hitter Élan McCall and middle blocker Katarzyna Połeć provide some stability as eight players arrive, including American setter Margaret Speaks, Mexican outside hitter Uxue Guereca and Swedish outside hitter Hanna Hellvig, the sister of beach volleyball Olympic champion Jonatan.

#VolleyWrocław

VolleyWrocław enters the 2025-2026 Tauron Liga determined to improve from their tenth-place finish last season, ten years after they won the most recent of their four bronze medals in the tournament. The team has a new coach in Wojciech Kurczyński and there's clearly a different strategy in their roster-building process, with their squad going from one international player in 2024-2025 to five this season - Croatian opposite Barbara Đapić, Puerto Rican outside hitter Valeria Flores, Canadian outside hitter Aimee Lemire, Ukrainian outside hitter Diana Frankevych and Ukrainian libero Alika Lutsenko. Among the domestic players, the standouts are setter Martyna Łazowska, who was part of the Polish squad in the Volleyball Nations League in 2021 and 2022, and middle blocker Natalia Dróżdż, one of their 11 offseason additions.
