Defending champions KS DevelopRes Rzeszów continue in great form as the first half of the 2025-2026 Tauron Liga regular season came to an end on Monday, with the conclusion of the 11th leg of the first round.

DevelopRes faced ŁKS Commercecon Łódź in a rematch of last year's Tauron Liga's final series, and, despite playing on the road, dominated their rivals to triumph 3-1 (28-26, 25-19, 21-25, 25-19) and extend their winning streak in the tournament to eight matches.

Undefeated since the end of October, the team led by French national team head coach Cesar Hernández continues to dominate the Polish League regular season and sits at the top of the standings with 31 points (ten wins, one loss). Despite the setback at home, Commercecon were able to retain their fourth-place spot - they have 21 points (seven wins, four losses).

Veteran setter Katarzyna Wenerska earned the match's MVP award. Under her guidance, DevelopRes had a well-diversified offense, which saw American opposite Taylor Bannister produce 24 points (18 kills, four blocks, two aces), Polish national team outside hitter Julita Piasecka register 15 (12 kills, two aces, one block) and Dutch outside hitter Marrit Jesper contribute 13 (ten kills, three aces).

"This was such a tough match," Ukrainian middle blocker Svitlana Dorsman said. "Commercecon played very well. They were very strong on defense and were serving very well, especially in the third set. I'm happy that we won, and now we go into the Holidays in a good mood."

Commercecon got 17 points (13 kills, three aces, one block) from outside hitter Daria Szczyrba and had Brazilian opposite Daniela Cechetto step up to add another 12 (nine kills, two blocks, one ace).

UNI Opole and Budowlani also win

DevelopRes' two main challengers in the regular season, UNI Opole and PGE Budowlani Łódź, which both have 27 points (nine wins, two losses), also won in the ending of the first half of the regular season. Uni Opole played on Friday, and even on the road, took down MOYA Radomka Radom 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-17, 25-16) with veteran opposite Katarzyna Zaroślinska-Król scoring 20 points (18 kills, one block, one ace).
