With seven of the eight 2025-2026 Tauron Liga playoff spots already assigned and EcoHarpoon NOWEL LOS Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki's relegation confirmed, the big talk in the last two legs of the tournament's regular season is the fight for the last berth available in the postseason.

Having Metalkas Pałac Bydgoszcz and MOYA Radomka Radom in contention, the dispute could be settled over the next few days, when the tenth and penultimate leg of the second round of the regular season will be held in the country.

The teams enter the weekend separated by just three points - Pałac are eighth with 25 points, followed by Radomka Radom, who are ninth, with 22 - and many different scenarios are possible by the end of the leg.

Running behind in the race, Radomka Radom play on Thursday, when they host sixth-placed LOTTO Chemik Police at 17:30 local time (16:30 UTC) at home, and they need to claim all three points to ensure that the dispute will at least continue open until the last leg of the regular season.

If everything goes their way, with them earning all three points against Chemik and Pałac not getting any on the road on Monday, at 20:00 (19:00 UTC), against third-placed UNI Opole, Radomka Radom could even end the weekend inside the qualification zone.

For Pałac, the plan is to continue ahead and be in control during the last leg of the regular season, when they will be favorites in a home match against the relegated Nowy Dwór.

"I think that everything will depend on our result against Opole," middle blocker Dominika Witowska said. "They've had a strong season and, even if their most recent results weren't the best, they also have something to play for and can't afford to lose. We also want to win to try to qualify in seventh place, which would put us in a better position for the playoffs."

Pałac can, however, get it over the line this weekend, needing simply to increase their lead over Radomka Radom from three to four points.

UNI Opole and Bielsko-Biała fight for third place

Already guaranteed in the playoffs and ensured to have homecourt advantage in the quarterfinals, UNI Opole and BKS BOSTIK ZGO Bielsko-Biała now fight to end the regular season in third place.

Leading the race with 43 points to 40 of their opponents, who play on the road against tenth-placed Sokół & Hagric Mogilno on Saturday at 17:30 (16:30 UTC), UNI Opole are in control here. They will confirm the third-place spot if they make one more point over their opponents this weekend.
