A duel involving the two main scorers of the 2025-2026 Tauron Liga will be one of the highlights of the sixth leg of the regular season in Poland, which will have six matches going on between Thursday and Tuesday.

Ranked first and second in the league's scorers table, opposites Kertu Laak and Katarzyna Zaroślinska-Król will be on different sides of the net when their teams, BKS BOSTIK ZGO Bielsko-Biała and UNI Opole, meet on Friday, at 20:30 local time (19:30 UTC).

Currently in sixth place in the standings with nine points (three wins, two losses), Bielsko-Biała will return home determined to get back to winning ways. The team had won three consecutive matches before being upset by Metalkas Pałac Bydgoszcz in front of their home fans last Saturday, and needs all three points to return to the fight near the top of the table.

Starting her third season with the team, the 27-year-old Laak has been an offensive force for them. The Estonian international, which helped her country triumph at the European Silver League in 2023, is on pace to become the Tauron Liga's top scorer for the second time in three seasons, repeating what she did in 2023-2024, and currently leads the league in points with 102.

Coming right next with 97 points scored, the 38-year-old Zaroślinska-Król has been leading UNI Opole to a solid campaign. A two-time Tauron Liga champion and a five-time Polish Cup winner, she is a legend in the Polish League, having played in 17 seasons and recently set a new record for match appearances, with 392. Zaroślinska-Król was selected to be the team's captain in 2025-2026, her third season with them.

UNI Opole have the same campaign as Bielsko-Biała, having collected nine points in their first five matches with three wins and two losses, but rank higher in fifth place thanks to their better set ratio. After dropping their first two matches of the season, they found their form and get to Friday's encounter on a three-match winning streak.

The two sides have met 12 times in Tauron Liga matches since the 2021-2022 season and Bielsko-Biała won eight of those encounters, including the last four.
