Only four matches will be held this weekend in Poland, as fifth-placed MOYA Radomka Radom and ninth-placed ITA TOOLS STAL Mielec had their duel anticipated to last week, while fourth-placed BKS BOSTIK ZGO Bielsko-Biała and leaders Budowlani will only meet at the end of December.
Tied with Budowlani in the Tauron Liga standings with 16 points (five wins, one loss), crosstown rivals Commercecon have the most straightforward path to end the weekend in first place in Poland. In order to do it, they need to beat 12th-placed Sokół & Hagric Mogilno 3-0 or 3-1 on the road on Sunday, at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT).
“We are still getting to know each other,” setter Marlena Kowalewska said. “This is an entirely new team, which has never played together before, so I think that week after week, we’re getting better. We want to win matches and we’ve been training very hard to do it. We want to play well and fight for the title.”
