With just half of the six matches of the second leg of the second round of the 2025-2026 Tauron Liga regular season taking place this weekend, LOTTO Chemik Police were the only team to change positions in the standings over the last few days.

The 11-time national champions confirmed the expectations and defeated the winless EcoHarpoon NOWEL LOS Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-23, 26-24) at home on Saturday, moving up to fifth place in the standings with nine matches yet to be played before the start of the playoffs.

Saturday's victory, which made Chemik get to 21 points (seven wins, six losses) in the standings and pass BKS BOSTIK ZGO Bielsko-Biała (20) for fifth place, represented only the most recent of the team's steps into the right direction in the Tauron Liga. Chemik were as low as tenth after dropping three consecutive matches between the end of November and the start of December, but have found their game since, winning four straight and collecting all 12 points in play to solidify their spot inside the qualification zone for the playoffs.

Even resting Paris Olympian Natalia Mędrzyk for part of the match, Chemik were in control for most of the time on Saturday. Outside hitter Julia Orzoł stepped up to lead the team offensively with 25 points (23 kills, two aces), earning the match's MVP award. Middle blocker Kinga Różyńska added 13, with nine kills, three blocks and one ace.

Still chasing their first victory in the Polish elite and in critical condition in the fight to avoid relegation, Nowy Dwór had the match's top scorer in opposite Paulina Reiter, who left the court with 28 points (26 kills, one block, one ace).

DevelopRes end UNI Opole's winning streak

On Sunday, league leaders KS DevelopRes Rzeszów and third-placed UNI Opole, which were both undefeated in their last nine matches, met and, even playing on the road, the team from Rzeszów triumphed 3-0 (25-23, 25-6, 25-22), handing their opponents their first Tauron Liga setback since October. With the victory, DevelopRes continue comfortably at the top of the standings with 37 points, while UNI Opole are third with 27.
