Budowlani looking to bounce back in the second leg

One of the top teams in the Polish Women's Tauron Liga, PGE Budowlani Łódź return to action this weekend in the second leg of the regular season, looking to recover from a frustrating opening match performance and secure their first victory in 2025-2026.

The team from Łódź will play on the road against Sokół & Hagric Mogilno on Sunday, at 20:30 local time (18:30 GMT), in the last match of the weekend.

A semifinalist in the last four editions of the Tauron Liga, Budowlani were at home in their opening match last week, but were upset by ITA TOOLS STAL Mielec, who prevailed in the tie-breaker, producing the most surprising result in the opening week of the tournament.

"I think we were a little surprised by their great level of play, but that's not an excuse, as we should have adapted," libero Justyna Łisiak said after the match. "We looked very good during our preparation and won all the preseason matches we played. We need to stay cool and know that there's a lot to improve going forward."

Sokół & Hagric were also on the wrong side of a five-setter last weekend, losing to LOTTO Chemik Police on the road. The teams met only twice in Tauron Liga history, last season, with Budowlani prevailing on both encounters.

First match on Thursday

The first match of the second leg of the Tauron Liga will be held on Thursday, when MOYA Radomka Radom host #VolleyWrocław at 17:30 (15:30 GMT). On Friday, at the same time, ŁKS Commercecon Łódź make their home debut, facing Metalkas Pałac Bydgoszcz.

Two matches will be held on Saturday, with rookies EcoHarpoon NOWEL LOS Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki playing Chemik at 12:30 (10:30 GMT) and Mielec returning home to meet BKS BOSTIK ZGO Bielsko-Biała at 20:30 (18:30 GMT).

On Sunday, before the match involving Budowlani and Sokół & Hagric, defending champions KS DevelopRes Rzeszów are set to face UNI Opole at 17:30 (15:30 GMT).
