Bielsko-Biała up two spots after victory over Radomka Radom

BKS BOSTIK ZGO Bielsko-Biała's second-straight victory over a higher-ranked opponent in the 2025-2026 Tauron Liga made the team move two spots up in the standings, going from sixth to fourth place after the conclusion of the eighth leg of the regular season on Monday.

Entering the week in sixth place, Bielsko-Biała had a direct duel with then-fifth-placed Radomka Radom on Saturday and used the homecourt advantage to their favor, winning 3-1 (25-21, 25-16, 21-25, 25-23).

With the three points earned, Bielsko-Biała got to 14 points (five wins, three losses), and passed not only Radomka Radom, who continued with 11 (four wins, four losses), but also ŁKS Commercecon Łódź, who they had defeated last week and didn't earn points in the leg. With that, they now only trail league leaders KS DevelopRes Rzeszów (22 points), second-placed UNI Opole and third-placed PGE Budowlani Łódź, which have 18 each.

With the league's best scorer, Estonian opposite Kertu Laak, having an unusually quiet performance and delivering only six points, outside hitter Martyna Borowczak stepped up and led Bielsko-Biała to victory with 24 points (23 kills, one ace), earning the match's MVP award.

Outside hitter Klaudia Nowakowska, who registered 16 points, with 14 kills and two blocks, and middle blocker Aleksandra Gryka, who added 15, with ten kills, four blocks and one ace, also had strong performances for the winning side.

Radomka Radom got 17 points (14 kills, three blocks) from outside hitter Weronika Szlagowska and another 15 (14 kills, one block) from Swiss Julie Lengweiler.

Budowlani win the Łódź Derby

Also on Saturday, Budowlani won the Łódź Derby, taking Commercecon down 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-16) and paving the way for Bielsko-Biała to pass their rivals in the standings.

Polish national team outside hitter Paulina Damaske split Budowlani's scoring load with Romanian Rodica Buterez - each of them scored 17 points - and took home the MVP award. Commercecon's leading scorer was Brazilian outside hitter Mariana Brambilla, with nine points.

The eighth leg started on Friday, with Metalkas Pałac Bydgoszcz sweeping (25-22, 25-18, 25-21) #VolleyWrocław on the road. On Saturday, ITA TOOLS STAL Mielec dominated EcoHarpoon NOWEL LOS Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki to a 3-1 (25-11, 25-15, 19-25, 25-17) victory.

Tauron Liga - Match Schedule & Results

Defending champions and league leaders DevelopRes played on Sunday and handled Sokół & Hagric Mogilno in four sets (16-25, 25-14, 26-24, 25-16). The schedule was completed on Monday, when UNI Opole downed LOTTO Chemik Police 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-16).

The ninth leg of the regular season will have matches played from Friday to Tuesday.
