DevelopRes Rzeszow defended the women’s AL-KO Superpuchar Polski crown and picked up the super cup trophy in Poland for the fourth time in the club’s history, after 2021, 2022 and 2025. They did so with an emphatic straight-set victory over reigning national champions and national cup winners PGE Budowlani Lodz on Saturday in Czestochowa, at the same venue where the men’s 2026 Poland Super Cup laureates will be crowned as well, in a Sunday showdown that will also be streamed live and on demand on VBTV.

In front of well over two and a half thousand spectators in the stands, DevelopRes mastered a 3-0 (25-19, 29-27, 25-18) win over Budowlani, getting back at the same opponent they lost the TAURON Liga final to in the spring.

Star outside hitters Julita Piasecka and Netherlands’ Marrit Jasper led the way with 17 and 16 points, respectively. Top scorer Piasecka put away 16 kills in attack and one kill block, while her Dutch cross-court teammate produced an ace, two stuffs and 13 successful swings.

Middle blocker Weronika Centka-Tietianiec added another 12 points, including nine spike kills at a 56% success rate in offense and three kill blocks. American substitution opposite Taylor Mims also finished with 12 points, including three stuffs.

The men’s Poland Super Cup showdown will follow on Sunday, October 25, at 15:00 local time (14:00 UTC), with the star-studded squads of reigning national champions Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and reigning national cup and super cup holders BOGDANKA LUK Lublin hitting the court in Czestochowa, also in a remake of last season’s five-game national league final.
