In a landmark deal set to redefine volleyball in Japan, Volleyball World and SV.LEAGUE have officially inked a multi-year strategic partnership, designed to catapult Japan’s premier men’s and women’s volleyball leagues onto the global stage.
Through this dynamic collaboration, Volleyball World will harness its industry-leading OTT platform, VBTV, as the new international home for the SV.LEAGUE. Fans around the globe will enjoy unprecedented access to live matches and exclusive content, giving the SV.LEAGUE's international stars the spotlight they deserve.
With over 1.5 million members on VBTV, this partnership comes at an exciting time for Volleyball World as it continues its rapid global growth. The rebranded SV.LEAGUE aims to be the world’s top volleyball league by 2030, and Volleyball World’s marketing expertise will play a key role in achieving that vision.
“We are thrilled to partner with SV.LEAGUE on this exciting new chapter,” said Finn Taylor, CEO of Volleyball World. “Volleyball World is committed to supporting the league’s growth and promotion on a global scale. Our goal is to bring the electrifying action of SV.LEAGUE to volleyball fans worldwide.”
The SV.LEAGUE Chairman, Masaaki Okawa, commented: “We are extremely pleased to have signed a long-term partnership with Volleyball World. Volleyball World is the global leader in the volleyball industry, and this partnership is a major step toward elevating SV.LEAGUE to new heights and strengthening our position on the international stage. I am confident that this partnership will shape the future of volleyball and contribute to our goal of becoming the world’s premier league. We look forward to a successful long-term collaboration.”
Due to existing rights the following regions will join the VBTV as of the 2025-2026 season: Indonesia, South Korea, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and Taiwan.
As part of the agreement, strategic initiatives will be rolled out across social media, YouTube, CRM, and the Volleyball World website to maximise global fan engagement. This partnership also ensures that the popularity of volleyball in Japan will thrive year-round, keeping fans connected long beyond the national team season.
