After a 20-day break related to the Empress’s Cup tournament, the women’s Daido Life SV.League returns to action in Japan this weekend. The 10th leg of the regular season will offer a full set of seven double headers to be played from Saturday, December 27, to Monday, December 29. In the most interesting match-up, third-placed Victorina Himeji will take on leaders NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki.

Victorina Himeji will host NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki on Saturday and Sunday at 14:05 local time (05:05 UTC) at the Victorina Wink Gymnasium. Himeji occupy third place in the current standings on a 14-4 win-loss ratio and 39 points, while their visitors from Kawasaki top the table on 16-2 and 44. This means that if the home teams secures the six points from this double header, they will overtake their opponents in the table. However, Himeji have never before managed to beat NEC in the league. All 13 previous encounters between the two clubs were won by Red Rockets.
The weekend will open with a match between PFU BlueCats Ishikawa Kahoku and defending champions Osaka Marvelous, newly crowned Empress’s Cup winners. The two games at the Komatsu General Gymnasium on Saturday and Sunday will start at 13:05 (04:05). PFU are sixth in the table on 10-8 and 34, and their visitors from Osaka are fourth on 12-6 and 39.
Second-placed Saga Hisamitsu Springs will welcome Okayama Seagulls to the Saga Arena at 14:05 (05:05) on both days of the weekend. The home teams stands on 14-4 and 39. Okayama are third from the bottom, in 12th place on 3-15 and 11.
Unlike the other six double headers, the one between Saitama Ageo Medics and Gunma Green Wings will take place on Sunday and Monday, with each of the two games serving off at 13:05 (04:05) at the Ageo Citizen Gymnasium. The visitors from Gunma occupy fifth place in the standings on 11-7 and 33, while Ageo are 10th on 8-8 and 23.
Queenseis Kariya will entertain Denso Airybees Koriyama at the Nishihara Shokai Arena in a clash between table neighbors right in the middle of the standings. The two teams are seventh and eighth on 9-9 each. Kariya edge above Denso with 29 points against 27. Saturday’s game will start at 14:05 (05:05). Sunday’s fixture is scheduled for an hour earlier, 13:05 (04:05).
Kurobe Aqua Fairies will host Aranmare Yamagata at the Ariso Dome at 14:05 (05:05) on both days of the weekend. The home team is running in ninth place on 9-9 and 25. Aranmare trail bottom, in 14th place on 1-7 and 3.
Also starting at 14:05 (05:05) on both days, Astemo Rivale Ibaraki will welcome Toray Arrows Shiga to the Ikenokawa Sakura Arena. Astemo stand in 11th place on 5-11 and 17, while Toray Arrows are second from the bottom, in 13th place on 3-15 and 9.
