The women’s Daido Life SV.League in Japan will be in full swing this weekend, with all 14 teams in action, engaging in seven double headers on Saturday, February 28, and Sunday, March 1.

Table leaders NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki will host Gunma Green Wings at the Tokyu Dresser Todoroki Arena at 14:05 local time (05:05 UTC) on Saturday and at 13:05 (04:05) on Sunday. The home team tops the current standings convincingly on a 28-4 win-loss ratio and 79 points, while Gunma are well within the playoff zone, in seventh place on 18-14 and 53. When Green Wings hosted their previous double header in October, Red Rockets brought home two straight-set victories.

Second-placed Saga Hisamitsu Springs will visit Toray Arrows Shiga at the Shiga Daihatsu Arena for the closing matches of the two competition days, serving off at 15:05 (06:05). Saga are in the runner-up position on 25-7 and 67, while Toray Arrows are third from the bottom, in 12th place on 6-26 and 17. At home in November, Hisamitsu Springs shut out the team from Shiga in both games.

Defending champions Osaka Marvelous will welcome Saitama Ageo Medics to the Ota City General Gymnasium at 14:05 (05:05) on both days. Marvelous are running in third place on 23-9 and 70. Medics hang to the edge of the playoff zone, in eighth place on 15-17 and 42. In November’s double header between the two teams, Osaka mastered two straight-set wins on the road.

PFU BlueCats Ishikawa Kahoku will travel to Astemo Rivale Ibaraki this weekend. The two matches at the Ikenokawa Sakura Arena will start at 14:05 (05:05). PFU are in fourth place on 21-11 and 68. Astemo stand 10th on 14-18 and 44. In November’s encounter, hosts BlueCats swept the first match in straight sets, but Rivale retaliated with a 3-1 win on the following day.

Victorina Himeji will return to action with two matches at Aranmare Yamagata this weekend. Saturday’s fixture at the Tsurushin Arena Komagihara is scheduled at 14:05 (05:05). Sunday’s game will start an hour earlier, at 13:05 (04:05). Himeji are running fifth on 21-11 and 61, while Aranmare trail bottom, in 14th place on 3-29 and 10. At home in October, Victorina achieved two straight-set wins over their visitors from Yamagata.

In the competition weekend opener, Queenseis Kariya will entertain Kurobe Aqua Fairies at the Sogo Arena Yokkaichi. Both games of this match-up will serve off at 13:05 (04:05). Kariya occupy sixth place on 18-14 and 60. Kurobe are down in 11th place, but still a serious candidate for the quarterfinal spots, on 14-18 and 41. Aqua Fairies beat Queenseis at home in both matches, when they met in October, 3-2 and 3-1.

Denso Airybees Koriyama will take a trip to Okayama Seagulls, hoping to climb up into the playoff zone. They are just below the cut-off, in ninth place on 14-18 and 45, while their hosts are second from the bottom, in 13th place on 4-28 and 15. The two sides traded victories in their previous double header in October. Hosts Airybees shut out Seagulls in the first match, but lost the second in four sets. This weekend’s games will be played at the Shigeto Arena Okayama at 14:05 (05:05) on Saturday and at 13:05 (04:05) on Sunday.
