Denso Airybees Koriyama lead the current standings on a full set of six wins and 18 points from six matches played, while Osaka Marvelous are second on four wins and 11 points from four matches played. Now Brazilian opposite Rosamaria Montibeller, Colombian outside hitter Amanda Cuneo and the rest of their teammates will play host to the squad around Japanese star Kotona Hayashi and Belgian striker Lise Van Hecke at the Aizu General Gymnasium on Saturday and Sunday at 13:05 local time (04:05 UTC).

The two clubs met twice last season and engaged in five-set battles in both cases. Osaka won both tie-breakers and it was particularly dramatic on November 4, 2023, when they came back from two sets down to win the fifth in the overtime, 17-15. Denso’s most recent win over Marvelous dates back to May of last year.

Saitama Ageo Medics, the team around Serbian outside Sara Lozo, standing third in the table on a 3-1 win-loss record and 9 points, will host German striker Lena Stigrot’s Kurobe Aqua Fairies, who are in 12th place on 1-5 and 3. The two games will also start at 13:05 (04:05) on both competition days at the Ageo Citizen Gymnasium.

Another team on 3-1 and 9, but placed fourth on set ratio, Astemo Rivale Ibaraki, will travel to the INPEX Sakata Arena for two away games with Aranmare Yamagata. The hosts are still winless in six matches played and stand second from the bottom, in 13th place on 0-6 and 1. Saturday’s game starts at 14:05 (05:05), while the one on Sunday serves off at 13:05 (04:05).

Victorina Himeji have also won three of their four matches so far. Standing fifth on 8 points, Arisa Inoue, Thailand’s Chatchu-On Moksri and their teammates are about to engage in a stellar clash with the likes of Netherlands’ Juliet Lohuis and Italy’s Sylvia Nwakalor from Toray Arrows Shiga, placed 10th on 2-4 and 7. Himeji will welcome Toray to the Victorina Wink Gymnasium at 13:05 (04:05) on Saturday and at 14:05 (05:05) on Sunday.

Sixth-placed NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki will entertain 11th-placed Saga Hisamitsu Springs at the Todoroki Arena. The first whistle for Saturday’s match is at 15:35 (06:35). The game on Sunday will get underway at 13:05 (04:05). Before this home double header, the defending champions are on 4-2 and 12. The opponents of Ajcharaporn Kongyot and company are on 2-4 and 7.

The remaining double header will feature two neighbours in the standings. Eighth-placed PFU BlueCats Ishikawa Kahoku (3-3 and 7) will host ninth-placed Queenseis Kariya (2-2 and 5). 13:05 (04:05) is the starting time for both fixtures on Saturday and Sunday to be held at the Kanazawa City General Gymnasium.
