Four days after missing out on a spot on the podium of the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship due to a defeat to Osasco São Cristovão Saúde in the tournament's bronze medal match, Brazilian giants Dentil Praia Clube managed to get back at their rivals.

The teams met on Thursday at the conclusion of the tenth leg of the first round of the Brazilian Women's Superliga, and this time Praia were the best team on the court, sweeping (25-21, 28-26, 25-18) Osasco to celebrate a much-needed victory in front of their home fans in Uberlândia.

Ironically, the victory made Praia get to 21 points (seven wins, three losses), and pass Osasco, who continued with 19 (six wins, four losses), for third place in the Superliga standings. The two teams trail league leaders SESC RJ Flamengo (27 points) and second-placed Gerdau Minas (26) with only one leg to go before the end of the first round of the regular season.

Praia's representative in the Club World Championship Dream Team, Olympic champion middle blocker Adenízia Ferreira continued in great form and led Praia with 15 points (11 kills, four blocks) on her 39th birthday, receiving the match's MVP award. American outside hitter Payton Caffrey added another 15 points to Praia's effort, with 13 kills and two blocks.

"I'm so happy," Adenízia celebrated. "We know this team can do so much more, and we won't relax after this great result. We'll keep working and pursuing our goals. We've been fighting a lot through our ups and downs, and we'll need everyone to get the results, as we did today."

Osasco, who endured their third-straight upset in the Superliga, had the match's top scorer in American outside hitter Caitie Bird, who left the court with 16 points (13 kills, three blocks). Argentine opposite Bianca Cugno and middle blocker Larissa Besen contributed ten points each.

"We knew they'd be fired up for this match after our victory at the Club World Championship," Larissa reflected. "I don't know if we were too tired or if we just didn't have a lot of energy, but they started very aggressively, and our level was way too low. Now we need to focus on our next match, which will be the last before the break for the Holidays, so we can end it well."
