Set to represent Brazil at next week's Club South American Championship, Osasco São Cristovão Saúde and SESI Vôlei Bauru both won their last 2025-2026 Brazilian Women's Superliga matches ahead of their trip to Peru.

The two teams competed in the sixth leg of the second round of the regular season during the week, and, despite playing on the road, came out on top, ensuring their preparations for the continental tournament will be finalized in good spirits.

The reigning Superliga champions, Osasco visited ninth-placed Paulistano Barueri on Tuesday and secured a 3-1 (25-18, 25-23, 24-26, 29-27) victory to get to 39 points in the standings, in third place.

Argentine opposite Bianca Cugno recovered from a muscle injury in her abdomen on time to get on the court with Osasco. Her presence was pivotal, as she led the team with 23 points (22 kills, one block), taking home the MVP award.

"I'm glad everything worked out well," Cugno said. "I was a little worried, but I didn't feel any pain. The team's doctors and physios did a great job of getting me ready for this match. Now we keep working because we want to win the South American Championship."

Brazilian national team players Jheovana Emanuele and Luzia Nezzo led Barueri, which are ninth, with 15 points, in the match. The opposite registered 20 points (15 kills, three blocks, two aces), while the middle blocker added another 18 (13 kills, five blocks).

In Lima, where the South American Championship will be held from February 18-22, Osasco will be part of Pool B, alongside Chile's Boston College and Bolivia's Olympic.

SESI clinch a spot in the playoffs

SESI entered the week looking to confirm their spot in the playoffs, and that happened even before they got on the court against 11th-placed Tijuca Tênis Clube on Wednesday, thanks to Barueri's defeat, but they didn't slow down, and triumphed 3-0 (29-27, 25-23, 25-21) on the road - they are fifth, with 35 points.

Opposite Bruna Moraes led SESI with 16 points (15 kills, one block) and was picked as the match's MVP.

"This match was very important if we wanted to keep fighting near the top of the standings," Bruna reflected. "We now focus on the South American Championship, and when we're back, we'll have some matches against the teams ranked above us."

SESI will be part of Pool C at the World Championship, alongside Peru's Regatas Lima and Ecuador's Club de Alto Rendimento.

On Tuesday, besides Osasco's victory, the Superliga schedule also had eighth-placed Batavo Mackenzie coming back to beat seventh-placed Fluminense 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-21) on the road.

Two teams from Minas Gerais triumphed at home on Wednesday, as second-placed Gerdau Minas topped tenth-placed Brasília Vôlei 3-1 (25-23, 22-25, 25-18, 25-12) and fourth-placed Dentil Praia Clube swept (25-21, 25-13, 25-17) 12th-placed Renasce Sorocaba.

The schedule was completed with a surprising result on Thursday, as sixth-placed Sancor Maringá Vôlei went to Rio de Janeiro and upset league leaders SESC RJ Flamengo, winning 3-1 (19-25, 26-24, 25-23, 25-20).
