Brazilian national team opposite Kisy Nascimento led reigning Brazilian Women’s Superliga champions Gerdau Minas to a dramatic victory in the seventh leg of the regular season of the 2024-2025 edition of the tournament.
Playing on the road, in Rio de Janeiro, Minas trailed Fluminense twice on Thursday, but counted on the firepower of their left-handed opposite to come out on top of the five-set battle between the teams, winning 3-2 (21-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-23, 15-10).

The two points earned with the victory made Minas jump from third to second place in the standings with 19 points (seven wins, one loss), three behind league leaders Dentil Praia Clube. Fluminense got one point in the match and remain in sixth place with 11 points.
With a solid offensive performance, Kisy carried Minas’ offense, tallying an impressive match-high 34 points, with 32 kills, one block and one ace. She was awarded as the player of the match,
“It was a tough match for us, we made way too many offensive errors,” she said. “But managing to get the win at the end shows our strength. We couldn’t have made those errors, but we never gave up. I’m happy about the award, but also very aware that we need to improve. Other difficult moments will come and we need to be ready to overcome them.”
