The only undefeated team in the 2025-2026 Brazilian Women's Superliga, SESC RJ Flamengo finally got to the top of the tournament's standings this week.

Trailing rivals since they had a match postponed in the second leg of the regular season, the Rio de Janeiro side finally caught up with the rest of the league on Tuesday, and took advantage of the opportunity to move to first place thanks to a 3-0 (30-28, 25-21, 25-21) road win over rivals Fluminense.

With their ninth victory in as many matches, Flamengo got to 25 points in the standings and passed Gerdau Minas, who had the lead with 23 (eight wins, one loss). Fluminense are sixth with 14 points (six wins, three losses).

American outside hitter Simone Lee won her fifth MVP award in eight Superliga appearances by leading Flamengo in the Derby with 26 points (23 kills, three blocks). Olympic medalist opposite Tainara Santos and outside hitter Karina Souza contributed 12 points each.

"Giovana (Gasparini, setter) makes my job so much easier," Lee remarked. "She always makes the best choices and gets our hitters in great positions to score. And tonight our passing was out of this world. It was a great performance, and it shows how well we can do when we play cohesively."

The top scorer of the last Superliga, opposite Ariele Pinto tallied 17 points (15 kills, two blocks) for Fluminense, while veteran outside hitter Amanda Campos added nine, with six kills, two blocks and one ace.
