The top four teams in the 2025-2026 Brazilian Women's Superliga regular season, SESC RJ Flamengo, Gerdau Minas, Osasco São Cristovão Saúde and Dentil Praia Clube confirmed the expectations and triumphed in the first round of the quarterfinals.

Leading their best-of-three series 1-0, they can all book their tickets to the semifinals later this week, as the second-round matches will be held between Thursday and Friday.

The best team in the regular season, Flamengo was the only one to win on the road. The Rio de Janeiro side faced Batavo Mackenzie in Belo Horizonte on Tuesday and overcame their opponents' homecourt advantage to triumph 3-1 (25-23, 25-18, 22-25, 25-16).

American Simone Lee led Flamengo's offense with 23 points (21 kills, two blocks), while fellow outside hitter Helena Henk contributed 13 (nine kills, three blocks, one ace) off the bench and was given the match's MVP award.

Later on Tuesday, Minas hosted Sancor Maringá Vôlei and dominated from start to finish to win 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-20).

Star middle blocker Júlia Kudiess led Minas' victory with a match-high 13 points (nine kills, three blocks, one ace), while former Brazil national team outside hitter Pri Daroit earned the MVP award after coming off the bench and scoring 11 points (nine kills, two blocks).

Praia and Osasco begin with sweeps

The Superliga quarterfinals started on Monday, when Praia and Osasco benefited from their homecourt advantage to get sweeps in their series.

Playing in Uberlândia, Praia dominated South American champions SESI Vôlei Bauru to produce a three-set (25-23, 25-22, 25-19) victory in front of their home fans.

Olympic medalist libero Natália 'Natinha' Araújo earned the match's MVP award while Bulgarian outside hitter Maria Koleva, with 17 points (all in kills), and Olympic champion middle blocker Adenízia Ferreira, with 15 (nine kills, six blocks), were the offensive standouts.

In Osasco, the defending champions took the first step to overcome Fluminense in the best-of-three series and triumphed 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-17).

Argentine opposite Bianca Cugno was instrumental in their victory, leading the team with 18 points (16 kills, two blocks) and taking home the match's MVP award.

Brazilian Women’s Superliga – Match Schedule & Results

All four series will continue before the end of the week. Praia and Osasco will face SESI and Fluminense, respectively, for the second time on Thursday, while Flamengo and Minas will try to secure their second victories over Mackenzie and Maringá on Friday.
