Fighting for their first Supercoppa title, the reigning Italian Cup champions counted on an impressive 24 points (22 kills, two aces) from Malian outside hitter Noumory Keita to overcome the semifinals. Brazilian star opposite Darlan de Souza added another 18, with 11 kills, four aces and three blocks.
The match's top scorer was Civitanova's Bulgarian star outside hitter Aleksandar Nikolov, who left the court with 26 points (19 kills, six aces, one block) to his name, ten more than fellow outside hitter and two-time world champion Mattia Bottolo.
The two finalists have met three times already in the 2025-2026 season and Verona won on two of those occasions. Historically, however, Perugia lead by a wide margin, having 36 victories in 46 encounters.
