“I told the boys that we played an almost equal match against Civitanova, but we lacked continuity in serving, which punished us more than anything else. Civitanova is certainly a great team with important physical and technical values. To beat them, we will have to put in a very high-level performance, play well and not be afraid of confrontation. Our expectation is to play an even better match than the one a few days ago.” Massimo Eccheli, head coach of Mint Vero Volley Monza
“For us it will be an even more complicated challenge. We will have to show up in Monza with an even better attitude than in the match we won on Saturday. In the next match, they will try to surprise us. We will have to prepare well both mentally and technically. I expect a long and demanding game. These are matches to be played in an aggressive and unscrupulous manner. We are not happy to play this quarterfinal away, but in my opinion it will be the game and the motivation that will make the difference, not the court factor.” Simone Anzani, middle blocker of Cucine Lube Civitanova
“It's a direct elimination match to be played against a strong opponent, who comes after a series of positive results. We have the opportunity to play the match at home and take advantage of the contribution of our fans, who make their support felt strong. We also know that to qualify, an intense and careful performance will be necessary. Verona are growing greatly. It is definitely a different opponent from the one we met at the beginning of November, but I am convinced that our quality has also improved since then. We want to be ready for a high-level challenge.” Fabio Soli, head coach of Itas Trentino Trento
“Trento have proven to be the strongest team in Italy in the last two years. They have the two main fundamentals, serving and receiving, at high level, not to mention the quality of blocking and the individuals who can resolve the most complicated situations. We will have to be ready for every chance that Trento give us. Sports are unpredictable: we must present ourselves there with serenity, but with a lot of determination. I know that we will have to fight for every single point and fight to try to win.” Radostin Stoytchev, head coach of Rana Verona
“Coppa Italia is the first important obstacle his January, which will see us busy on various fronts. Our attention from an emotional point of view is there. We face Milan, a team that has grown a lot since the beginning of the season and the results they are obtaining are there to prove it. We are doing well. The boys have made a big leap in quality from a character point of view.” Andrea Anastasi, head coach of Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza
“We have two upcoming challenges in Piacenza. The first will be the Italian Cup, an in-or-out match to be prepared in terms of head, body and heart. We must be able to persevere against an opponent who will attack us from the first to the last point with a very aggressive serve. Piacenza have experienced and valuable players. We have to face this challenge as best we can.” Roberto Piazza, head coach of Allianz Milan
“We know Modena well. We know they are a very strong team with some of the best players in the world. But we want to win and we want to go to Bologna to play the Coppa Italia Final Four and get to the end of the event. It will certainly be a good match on Thursday. We are waiting for our fans and we hope to have a full hall to support us. We will take to the court to play our best volleyball.” Jesus Herrera, opposite of Sir Susa Vim Perugia
“We have changed a lot compared to last year and we are working hard to find the best mix. We must continue to train to raise our level and really be able to compete with everyone. The beauty of sports is that every week you put yourself to the test. You should never delude yourself about victories or get too discouraged about defeats. It's important to work day after day to build something. Our team has many resources, having the possibility to make changes during the match is a value and it is up to the technical staff to decide who the best players are for each phase of the matches.” Bruno Rezende, setter of Valsa Group Modena
