Wilfredo Leon put an end to all the guessing as to which club would get his signature for the upcoming season by extending his contract with Sir Safety Conad Perugia until 2025.

The Italian club confirmed that the Polish national team's Cuba-born star would spend the next three seasons in Perugia. They also announced a one-year extension of their contract with Italian national team libero Massimo Colaci.

28-year-old Leon, the best server of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, has been with the club from Perugia since the 2018-2019 season, claiming two CEV Champions League third-place finishes, a national cup trophy and two national super cup trophies (MVP on all three occasions), as well as two national championship silvers.

“I had some offers, but I'm happy to have signed again here in Perugia because I miss the flavour of winning important trophies and this is our goal for this season and the next three. I thank the club, the president and also the team who were an important part of my decision,” the 2.02m-tall outside hitter said at the press conference.

“I have said it a thousand times. In Perugia I feel at home and I am very happy about this renewal,” added 36-year-old Colaci, a Rio 2016 Olympic silver medallist and three-time FIVB Club World Championship gold medallist, who has been competing for Sir since the 2017-2018 season. “It was easy for me to stay here; it has always been my desire. I'm fine in Perugia, my family is fine... I'm lucky enough to be part of a team that aims to win everything and a great club that has given me a lot over the years.”
