Fighting neck and neck for the top spot in the 2025-2026 Lega Femminile Serie A1 Tigotà standings, Savino Del Bene Scandicci and Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano will have another chapter of their battle during the week, when the Italian League will have the sixth leg of the first round of its regular season.

Seven matches will be held in the country over the next two days, and Scandicci and Conegliano, which both have 14 points, will get on the court on Wednesday, trying to add three more to their total.

Having at least a three-point advantage over the rest of the league, Conegliano and Scandicci are ranked first and second right now, with the defending champions having the lead thanks to their better set ratio (15-2 to 15-17).

One of just two teams to have already played six matches in the 2025-2026 season, Scandicci have five wins and a loss so far. After being upset by Honda Cuneo Granda Volley in the third leg, though, the 2024-2025 European Champions League runners-up have won three consecutive matches, beating Il Bisonte Firenze, Numia Vero Volley Milano and Omag-Mt San Giovanni In Marignano.

The team of Olympic champions Ekaterina Antropova and Caterina Bosetti will play in the first match to start on Wednesday, hosting ninth-placed Eurotek Laica UYBA Busto Arsizio at 20:00 local time (19:00 GMT), at the Pala BigMat, in Firenze.

"Busto have recently lost their captain (setter Jennifer Boldini) to an injury, but responded very well and showed great teamwork to get a win at home against Vallefoglia," head coach Marco Gaspari said. "Last season, the match against Busto was a big turning point for us. They made a lot of changes and look very different this season, but have many interesting players. We're coming from three consecutive victories, and it's time to take the next step and consolidate our game and get more confidence."

Conegliano play third-placed Chieri

The only undefeated team in the Lega Femminile, defending champions Conegliano will play one of the sides that challenge them for the top of the standings, third-placed Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri '76, which have 11 points (four wins, one loss) and won their two most recent encounters. The match at the Palaverde, in Villorba, is set to start at 20:30 (19:30 GMT).

"Chieri have been working hard to catch up with the four top teams and will be a fantastic opponent," head coach Daniele Santarelli said. "I feel that they get better every year, and this season they added some great players and the right coach. We played very well against Novara last weekend and are continuing to improve as a team. I'm looking forward to seeing how we can improve from Saturday and take all three points against an opponent that will certainly demand from us."

The only undefeated team in the Italian League, Conegliano have secured victories over Busto, Cuneo, Omag, Wash4Green Monviso Volley and Novara in their first five matches.

Three more matches will be held on Wednesday, all starting at 20:30 (19:30 GMT) - Monviso vs. Novara, Cuneo vs. Firenze and Megabox Ondulati Del Savio Vallefoglia vs. Bergamo.
