Reigning world champions Savino Del Bene Scandicci were pushed to their limits, but came back twice to keep their winning streak in the 2025-2026 Lega Femminile Serie A1 Tigotà alive for another week.

The second-best team in the Italian League regular season, Scandicci made the trip to Turin to face Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri '76 on Sunday and triumphed 3-2 (25-27, 25-18, 21-25, 25-20, 15-13) in the ninth leg of the second round, repeating the result of their encounter in the Coppa Italia semifinals last weekend.

Undefeated in their last 11 Italian League matches, Scandicci continue in second place in the standings, now with 56 points (20 wins, two losses), but saw their gap to leaders Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano increase to four points and their lead over third-placed Numia Vero Volley Milano go down to four. Chieri added one point to their total, getting to 48 (16 wins, six losses), and continue in fourth place.

Star opposite Ekaterina Antropova had her second most productive performance in the season and led Scandicci to victory with 30 points (22 kills, five aces, three blocks), earning the match's MVP award.

"It's always very difficult against Chieri," German middle blocker Camilla Weitzel, who scored 13 points, remarked. "They are a very good team and their defensive system is really strong. But we made it, and we're really happy."

Chieri counted on outstanding performances from Anett Németh and Stella Nervini to challenge the world champions, as both the Hungarian opposite and the world champion outside hitter ended the match with 24 points scored.
