Reigning Italian champions Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano continue to face a challenging schedule at the start of the second round of the 2025-2026 Lega Femminile Serie A1 Tigotà regular season this weekend and will have, for a third-straight week, a team inside the league's top four crossing their path.

After falling to Numia Vero Volley Milano and downing Igor Gorgonzola Novara in the last two weeks, the Panthers are now set to face third-placed Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri '76 on the road on Sunday, at 16:00 local time (17:00 UTC), during the sixth leg of the second round.

Chieri are one of the hottest teams in the Italian League right now and have risen all the way up to third place last weekend, after they defeated Bergamo in the tie-breaker and got to 40 points, with 14 wins and four losses. They have eight victories in their last nine matches and have proved to be tough opponents to even the best teams in the country, having already defeated both Milano and Novara and taken a set from Conegliano when the teams met in the first round of the regular season.

The team coached by Nicola Negro has a high-level scoring trio formed by Hungarian opposite Anett Németh (331 points), Swiss outside hitter Laura Dervisaj-Künzler (273) and world champion Stella Nervini (263), and is slowly building Italian national team outside hitter Alice Degradi back into form after she recovered from a knee injury. They also have the Italian League's best blocker in Anna Gray, who registered 44 stops already.

Conegliano had some difficult moments in December, failing to win the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship and losing their first match in the 2025-2026 Lega Femminile, but gave signs they are back to their usual form last weekend, when they defeated Novara and got to 49 points (17 wins, one loss), keeping their spot at the top of the standings.

"Chieri are by no means a surprise in our league," head coach Daniele Santarelli said. "They've been competing in the top tier for a few years, and this season have, again, a well-built squad and are very well coached. I'm sure the fans will give them a boost, and we'll need to be ready for a battle. We want to continue in first place, and the team has been performing well."

Swedish opposite Isabelle Haak has been carrying their offense with 351 points scored, followed by Brazilian national team captain Gabriela 'Gabi' Guimarães, with 202.

The teams have met 16 times in the Lega Femminile already and Conegliano came out on top in each of them.

Scandicci go for eighth-straight victory

Undefeated in their last seven Italian League matches, reigning world champions Savino Del Bene Scandicci will try to secure their eighth consecutive victory on Sunday. Ranked second with 46 points (16 wins, two losses), they will face ninth-placed Eurotek Laica UYBA Busto Arsizio on the road at 17:00 (18:00 UTC).

The sixth leg of the second round of the regular season will get going on Saturday, when 14th-placed Omag-Mt San Giovanni In Marignano will make another attempt to leave the bottom of the standings, playing at home against tenth-placed CBF Balducci HR Macerata at 20:30 (21:30 UTC).
