Only four teams took home all three points on the Opening Day of the 2025-2026 Lega Femminile Serie A1 Tigotà, and two of them, Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ’76 and Numia Vero Volley Milano, will meet in the second leg of the season this weekend.

Their duel, scheduled for Sunday, at 18:00 local time (16:00 GMT), will be the last of the seven set to take place over the weekend in Italy, in the second leg of the first round of the regular season.

The hosts of this weekend’s encounter, Chieri had a promising start to their campaign, going on the road, taking Il Bisonte Firenze down in four sets last Monday. World champion outside hitter Stella Nervini was in excellent form for them, tallying 17 points, one more than middle blocker Anna Gray.

Milano, on the other hand, earned their three points in front of their home fans, sweeping Bergamo. Elevated to the team’s captain role this season, star opposite Paola Egonu started the season firing at all cylinders and registered 25 points.

Milano have won 18 of the 22 matches against their opponents in the Lega Femminile to date. Chieri’s last victory dates back to the 2020/2021 season, when they also triumphed in the Coppa Italia.

Scandicci and Perugia get the weekend started

The second leg of the Italian League will begin on Saturday, with Savino Del Bene Scandicci hosting Bartoccini-Mc Restauri Perugia at 20:30 (18:30 GMT). Both teams collected points on Opening Day, with Scandicci getting all three and Perugia securing one.

On Sunday, defending champions Conegliano will meet their fans for the first time, hosting Honda Cuneo Granda Volley at 16:00 (14:00 GMT). They almost dropped their opening match to Eurrotek Laica UYBA Busto Arsizio, but came back from a two-set deficit to win in the tie-breaker.
