One of the hottest teams in the 2024-2025 Lega Volley Femminile Serie A1 Tigotà right now, Eurotek Uyba Busto Arsizio will try to make a push into the Italian League’s top four as the first round of the regular season nears its end and they could accomplish their goal as soon as Wednesday, when the 11^th leg will be held.

Currently in fifth place with 18 points (six wins, four losses), Busto are within striking range of fourth-placed Igor Gorgonzola Novara, who have 20 points (seven wins, three losses), and could switch places with their rivals depending on how their matches go.

Busto will be at home at the E-Work Arena on Wednesday and will be favorites in the duel against 11^th-placed Bartoccini-Mc Restauri Perugia, which starts at 20:30 local time (19:30 GMT). At the same time, Novara will also play at home, hosting seventh-placed Bergamo.

Busto’s excellent form over the last 40 days has entirely shifted the team’s aspirations in the 2024-2025 Italian League. The turning point of their campaign was a 3-1 win over Savino Del Bene Scandicci in the fourth leg of the regular season, which marked their first victory of the season.

Since then, the team has won six of their seven matches, earning points in all of them and leaving the bottom of the standings behind to fight for a high seed in the playoffs. “It’s going to be another difficult match, like every other,” head coach Enrico Barbolini said. “This time things were a little bit different as we only had one day to rest and half a day to prepare. We hope our enthusiasm can give us the strength we need to overcome the test our bodies will go through.”

This will be the first meeting between the teams in the Italian elite. They’ve met eight times in the country’s second division, with Busto triumphing in seven of those duels.
