Bergamo, who got one of their four wins in the season against Trentino, in December, have dropped each of their last seven matches, getting no points at all since a victory over Cuneo on January 21.
“We have had too many ups and downs during the season and we haven’t been able to react in difficult moments,” said Bergamo’s head coach Alberto Bigarelli. “Unfortunately we haven’t been able to change this during the season, but we need to do more in these final two matches.”
Although they have nothing to play for, Trentino have been performing better after their battle to avoid relegation ended, getting two wins in their last five matches, including a 3-1 triumph against Uyba Volley Busto Arsizio last Saturday.
“Last weekend we showed great ability to adapt to some tactical changes," Trentino's coach Davide Mazzanti reflected. "For Wednesday, we expect to do a little bit better technically in some areas of the game so we can take full advantage of the opportunities we get. It's going to be our last home match of the season and we want to give our fans a win to, at least partially, reward them for their support."
