Egonu has been her usual self this season, leading the league’s scoring table with 496 points so far. Nwakalor comes third with 395 while Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio’s Camilla Mingardi is sandwiched between the two with 433 points to her name.
The two teams are currently in different places in the standings with defending champions Conegliano entering the weekend in second place with 54 points (19 wins, three losses) and with hopes of moving into first. Firenze are trying to improve from their current seventh-place spot with 32 points (11 wins, 11 losses) ahead of the start of the playoffs.

The two teams are coming from impactful victories over the Lega’s third-placed Vero Volley Monza. Firenze surprised the former leaders with a five-set upset last Sunday and Conegliano eliminated their rivals from the CEV Champions League with a 3-1 win on Thursday.
Conegliano and Firenze have unfinished business since last December, when the team from Florence caused the biggest upset of the current club season, defeating the reigning Italian and European champions and ending a 76-match winning streak that lasted almost two years.
The Italian League weekend schedule starts on Saturday, with Acqua & Sapone Roma Volley Club and Busto Arsizio meeting at 17.30 and Delta Despar Trentino hosting leaders Igor Gorgonzola Novara at 20.30. Five more matches are set to take place on Sunday.
