Scandicci are back in action on Wednesday
“We continue this cycle of many matches in quick succession. I think it can do us good," said Scandicci coach Massimo Barbolini. "We saw on Sunday that we need to play, to pick up the pace and to resume our game without errors. In Bergamo after an hour of suffering, we came out of the game quite well. We need to play against Casalmaggiore and continue on this path. We also need to improve because the calendar is growing in difficulty and therefore we must be careful. Casalmaggiore are a team that started very well, and we paid the price. Then they slowed down a bit. But we saw that in our league there are no games to be taken lightly. We have to think about ourselves, we have to think about improving: we have had a good period of training and physical preparation, but now we have to resume playing and improve game after game."
The second match scheduled will take place today following the postponement of the CEV Champions League encounter between Conegliano and Fatum Nyiregyhaza due to Covid-19 cases on the Hungarian team.
"After the postponement of the Champions League match that we should have played today against Fatum (moved to Wednesday 26), the opportunity to play a league game arose," said Conegliano coach Daniele Santarelli. "From here on we will play practically every three days which is good to keep the pace high in view of the spring when we will hopefully play for trophies that matter."
