Loveth Omoruyi stretches high to try and clear the block of Rome's Agnese Cecconello as she leads Conegliano to a solid win in the Italian league.

Defending champions Prosecco Doc Imoco Volley Conegliano have regained the lead in the standings as the Italian women's league resumed, following a quick and easy 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-17) sweep of Acqua & Sapone Roma Volley Club before some 1,600 fans at home in the PalaVerde on Sunday evening.

Inspired by match MVP Loveth Omoruyi who contributed the match high of 14 points, Conegliano have now moved three points clear of Igor Gorgonzola Novara and Vero Volley Monza who share second place.

Earlier on the weekend, Novara had produced their own sweeping performance for a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-12) shutout of Vbc Trasporti Pesanti Casalmaggiore on the road.

A brilliant attacking efficiency of 78% (14/18) by the Netherlands' Nika Daalderop for a match high 16 points earned her the MVP award for the game as Novara also dominated the blocking (ten stuffs to one) and serving (nine aces to five).
