The 2012 world champions, Osasco now have five medals, after taking silver in 2010 and 2014 and a bronze in 2011. The only edition in which the six-time Brazilian champions didn't secure a medal was 2017, when they ranked sixth.
Praia, on the other hand, came up one victory short of their first medal at the Club World Championship for a third-straight season in 2025, with their fourth-place finish in São Paulo repeating the results they had earned in 2023 and 2024. The reigning South American champions also appeared in the event in 2018, when they also finished fourth, in 2019 (sixth), 2021 (fifth) and 2022 (fifth).
The Club World Championship top scorer, Argentine opposite Bianca Cugno had a prominent role in Osasco's victory on Sunday, leading the team with 21 points (18 kills, three blocks). Middle blocker Larissa Besen also appeared well, registering 11 points, with six blocks and five kills.
"It's a wonderful feeling," said libero Camila Brait, who has been with Osasco in each of their five medal-winning campaigns. "We weren't counting on playing the Club World Championship this year, but the club managed to bring it to São Paulo and gave us this opportunity. It's an honor for us to be at the podium and we have to celebrate it."
