Volleyball World has announced that Betim, Brazil will host the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship 2021 from 7 to 11 December 2021.

Six of the best professional volleyball clubs will compete at the 2021 edition of the event in the hope of being crowned the top men’s club in the world. Brazil’s renowned Sada Cruzeiro has already secured its spot at the prestigious club event as the CSV Club Championship winner from the 2019-2020 season.

Betim, Brazil previously hosted the Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship in 2019 with the Italian Lube Civitanova claiming gold, Sada Cruzeiro winning silver and Russian club Zenit Kazan taking bronze.

Updates to the Club World Championships 2021 qualification process

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of the FIVB Club World Championships 2020 and the 2021 CSV Men’s Club Championship, and since CSV was the only applicable Continental Confederation to conclude its Club Championship during the 2019-2020 season, and the clubs that won that competition therefore did not have the opportunity to compete at the FIVB Club World Championship, the FIVB Board of Administration approved the change to the 2021 event’s qualification process following a request from the CSV.

The updated qualification process is as follows:

1.          CEV Champions League Winner 2020-2021

2.          CEV Champions League Runner-up 2020-2021

3.          CSV Club Championship Winner 2019-2020

4.          CSV Club Championship Runner-up 2019-2020

5.          AVC Club Championship Winner 2020-2021

6.          Host Country League Winner 2020-2021

FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship

1.          CEV Champions League Winner 2020-2021

2.          CEV Champions League Runner-up 2020-2021

3.          CSV Club Championship Winner 2019-2020

4.          CSV Club Championship Winner 2020-2021

5.          AVC Club Championship Winner 2020-2021

6.          Host Country League Winner 2020-2021
