The third week of action in the Big Ten women’s volleyball Conference will feature some exciting rivalry matches among the 18 duels set to happen between Wednesday and Sunday and VBTV subscribers around the world will be able to watch two of them live.

On Sunday, the encounters between Ohio State and Michigan, set to start at 13:00 local time (17:00 GMT), in Columbus, and Oregon and Washington, scheduled for 13:00 local time (20:00 GMT), in Eugene, will be available for subscribers around the world.

Two other matches – Michigan vs. Illinois, on Friday, at 19:00 local time (00:00 GMT, Saturday), and Nebraska vs. Rutgers, on Saturday, at 19:00 local time (1:00 GMT, Sunday), will also be available live on the platform.

The rivalry between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines is among the most intense in American collegiate sports and that extends to volleyball too. The rivals met 37 times since 1999 and Ohio State have the edge, having triumphed in 20 of those encounters. Michigan, however, prevailed on the last one, winning last season.

The Wolverines have been in better for this season, accumulating 13 wins and just two losses, including three victories and one upset in Big Ten play. Michigan have the leading scorer in the Big Ten conference, graduate outside hitter Allison Jacobs, with 77 kills, and the player with the most assists, sophomore Morgan Burke, who has 188 and was awarded as the Big Ten Setter of the Week on week two.

Ohio State, on the other hand, have seven wins and seven losses in the current season and are yet to win a Big Ten conference match after four attempts. With 68 kills, graduate outside hitter Emily Londot has been the team’s most productive player so far.

Big Ten - Match Schedule & Results

Oregon and Washington are a new rivalry to the Big Ten, but the two have battled for years in the Pac-12. History shows an extremely dominant Washington over the years, with 32 victories in the 42 duels held since 2002, but Oregon has been more successful as of late, having triumphed in the last three meetings.

The team from Eugene has 11 wins and two losses this season and holds a 3-1 record in Big Ten play. Junior outside hitter Mimi Colyer has been the team’s main offensive weapon in the conference, with 47 kills.

Washington saw their undefeated campaign end last week, but continue in good form, with 13 wins a single loss this season – they also have a 3-1 record in the Big Ten. With 37 kills, junior outside hitter Emoni Bush has been producing well at the net for the Huskies.
