If in previous years Londot, who used to play as an opposite, was mainly tasked with scoring points for the Buckeyes, now she has a much larger role with the team, having moved to outside hitter, where she also has passing and digging responsibilities.
Besides that, as one of just three seniors in the squad and arguably the player the underclassmen look up to, she has also stepped into more of a leadership role with the team.
“She’s taking a massive load for this team, not only physically but also emotionally, and she’s handling it with such poise that I think it’s remarkable,” head coach Jen Flynn Oldenburg said. “We moved her to outside hitter and she’s now handling more load on serve-receive, which is not an easy task to do, and she’s one of our best passers. She has to be ready to go at all times. She’s done a great job for us in terms of leadership alongside the other seniors. They’re coming to play, setting the standards and holding our team accountable, which is exactly what we need with this young group.”
