Setter Mac Podraza will lead Ohio State in their match against Northwestern on Sunday

With 14 matches scheduled to take place over the next five days, the third week of women’s volleyball in the Big Ten Conference starts on Wednesday.

Seven of these matchups will be broadcast live and on demand on Volleyball TV, including two over the weekend without any territorial restrictions.

The first of them, on Saturday, October 8, will place four-time Big Ten champions Purdue and reigning NCAA national champions Wisconsin face-to-face in West Lafayette, Indiana. The match is set to start at 8:00 PM ET / 12:00 AM UTC.

The Boilermakers (13-1 for the season) are one of just two Big Ten teams to remain undefeated after winning all their four matches while dropping just three sets over the first two weeks of the Conference season. Freshman outside hitter Eva Hudson, who has been on the court in each of the 46 sets played by the team and scored 258 points, has been one of Purdue’s sensations this season – she was Big Ten’s Freshman of the Week in the first two weeks of the season and Player of the Week in the second.

The Badgers (9-3 for the season) have won three of their first four conference matches and showed great improvement in the second week, succeeding in both of their encounters. Sophomore outside hitter Sarah Franklin is the team’s leading scorer this season with 165 points scored.

On Sunday, October 9, it will be time for Ohio State and Northwestern to clash in Columbus, Ohio, at 1:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM UCT.

The Buckeyes (7-5 for the season) will play at home for the first time in the conference season and return home with a positive 3-1 win record after their first four road matches. Senior Setter Mac Podraza, who has 455 assists for the season, and senior libero Kylie Murr, who produced 164 digs, earned Co-Setter of the Week and Co-Defensive Player of the Week awards last week after they helped the team beat rivals Michigan on the road.

They split the awards with two Northwestern players – junior setter Alexa Rousseau (586 assists) and fifth-year libero Megan Miller (228 digs). The Wildcats (12-4 for the season) are 1-3 in conference play, but produced a big win over Minnesota last week and will be looking to continue improving their campaign this week.
