Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan Isfahan secured a spot in this year’s AVC Women’s Champions League, which will be played in the Korean city of Goyang from April 26 to 30 and will be streamed live on VBTV. The Iranian team won the CAVA (Central Asian Volleyball Association) Women's League in the Maldives and qualified for the premier continental club competition.

In Tuesday’s zonal final in Male, Foolad hammered out a 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-20) shutout of Kazakhstan’s Turan Turkistan to top the podium undefeated. Before that, the squad from Isfahan managed to string up victories over Maldives’ Huraa Community by 3-1 (25-14, 23-25, 25-14, 25-12), Nepal’s Nepal Police Kathmandu by 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-18) and Uzbekistan’s Humo Tashkent by 3-0 (25-11, 25-11, 25-11) in pool, and over Sri Lanka’s Hirdaramani Colombo by 3-0 (25-12, 25-9, 25-16) in the semifinals.
In the bronze medal match, Nepal Police claimed a 3-1 (21-25, 25-12, 25-16, 25-22) win over Hirdaramani to complete the podium.
Three of Foolad’s players made the Dream Team of the CAVA Women’s League – opposite Elaheh Poorsaleh, who was also named Most Valuable Player (MVP), setter Shabnam Alikhani and middle blocker Zahra Karimi.
The rest of the Dream Team featured Turan’s outside hitter Andelka Novosel, middle blocker Elena Samoilenko and libero Sandugash Assanova, as well as outside Bhandari Usha of Nepal Police.
