Volleyball World has announced that the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship 2021 will be hosted in Ankara, Turkey from 15 to 19 December 2021.

This year’s edition of the competition will see six of the world’s best professional volleyball clubs go head-to-head in a bid to be crowned the top women’s club on the planet. Three clubs having already secured their place in the line-up, including European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) Women’s Champions League winners, Imoco Volley Conegliano of Italy, and runner-up VakıfBank Istanbul of Turkey.

In addition, with VakıfBank Istanbul having already qualified via the European pathway, the runner-up of the Turkish Women’s Volleyball League, Fenerbahce Opet Istanbul, have qualified via the host country league pathway.

The three remaining qualification places will be filled by the South American Volleyball Confederation (CSV) Club Championship winner and runner-up, in addition to the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Club Championship winner.

The Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship will be the 16th edition of the prestigious competition which was first held in 1989. The last edition was held in 2019 in Shaoxing, China where Imoco Volley Conegliano claimed their first-ever gold in the event.
