Undefeated teams set to clash this week in the Tauron Liga

Four teams remain undefeated after the conclusion of the second leg of the Tauron Liga regular season, but only two of them will keep the status at the conclusion of the third leg of the Polish women’s national league in the next few days.

Among the six matches set to happen between Thursday and Tuesday in the country are two duels involving the undefeated sides, with KS DevelopRes Rzeszów hosting BKS BOSTIK Bielsko-Biała on Saturday, at 17:30 local time (15:30 GMT), and UNI Opole welcoming PGE Grot Budowlani Łódź on Monday, at the same time.

The team of Paris Olympians Agnieszka Korneluk, Magdalena Jurczyk and Marrit Jasper, DevelopRes won their first two road matches in the Tauron Liga and are currently in second place with five points. This weekend, they will play in front of their home fans for the first time.

Their opponents Bielsko-Biała, who have setter Julia Nowicka as their main star, triumphed in the first leg and had their second-leg match postponed – they also emerged victorious in the season-opening Polish Supercup.

DevelopRes have been more successful over the years, having defeated their rivals 18 times in 24 encounters, including two in the semifinal playoffs of the last edition of the Tauron Liga.

Led by experienced opposite Katarzyna Zaroślinska-Król, Opole, who would be Bielsko-Biała’s opponents in their postponed second-leg match, won their opening match against Metalkas Pałac Bydgoszcz in the first week of the season.

Budowlani Łódź, on the hand, enter Monday’s match sitting at the top of the Tauron Liga standings. The team of Italian opposite Terry Enweonwu and Serbian outside hitter Jelena Blagojević was the only one to collect all six points in their first two league matches.

The club from Łódź also has a very positive retrospect against their opponents, having won all six duels between the teams, while dropping only four sets.

First match on Thursday

The third leg of the Tauron Liga begins on Thursday, with the encounter between ITA TOOLS STAL Mielec and defending champions Lotto Chemik Police, scheduled for 17:30 local time (15:30 GMT).

On Saturday, ŁKS Commercecon Łódź and Energa MKS Kalisz meet at 12:30 local time (10:30 GMT), while Sokół & Hagric Mogilno and #VolleyWrocław duel later, at 19:00 local time (17:00 GMT). The round will be completed on Tuesday, with the match between MOYA Radomka Radom and Metalkas Pałac Bydgoszcz, at 19:00 local time (15:00 GMT).
