The year 2025 is about to end, closing what has been a spectacular period for men's volleyball at the international level. The 2025 international season came with big expectations, following the historic success and excitement of the Paris 2024 Olympics, and left nothing to desire, delivering two major international tournaments of the highest caliber.

The Volleyball Nations League (VNL) had a new format in its seventh edition, presenting an expanded field of 18 teams, and saw Poland triumph for the second time, topping the podium in Ningbo, China.

More was to come just a few months later, in September, with the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship inaugurating its 'new era' of biannual tournaments and expanded 32-team field with an incredibly successful edition in the Philippines, which saw Italy win their second consecutive and fifth overall title.

Extraordinary individual performances were delivered throughout the season, and to honor the incredible level of play, Volleyball World's social media team produced a ranking of the ten best men's volleyball players of 2025:

#1 Alessandro Michieletto (Italy)

#2 Aleksandar Nikolov (Bulgaria)

#3 Simone Giannelli (Italy)

#4 Jakub Kochanowski (Poland)

#5 Wilfredo León (Poland)

#6 Simeon Nikolov (Bulgaria)
