Volleyball World and the 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup Organizing Committee today announced the selection of Horizon Sports & Experiences (HS&E) as the exclusive sponsorship and media rights sales agency for the 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup.
The event will showcase the world’s top 32 national teams and take place in the United States and Canada in August and September 2027. It also serves as an Olympic Qualifier, with the top three national teams who have not yet qualified earning their spot at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Under the agreement, HS&E will lead the U.S. media rights and partnership sales process, with a focus on developing and commercializing the global audience for one of volleyball’s premier women’s events. The agency will also create high-impact U.S.-focused sponsorship packages designed to deepen fan engagement around the competition, participating federations and the sport at large. HS&E will leverage its industry-leading in-house research and data-driven strategic planning function to maximize value for prospective media and sponsorship partners.
The 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup arrives at a time of significant momentum for women’s volleyball globally and across North America. The previous 2025 edition of the event in Thailand delivered record-breaking broadcast and digital reach, attracting 803 million cumulative viewers across live and repeat programming, while outperforming the men’s 2025 edition. It also generated 3.8 billion in social media reach, with 78% of the audience aged 18-25 and women representing 54% of the audience, underscoring volleyball's growing relevance with young, highly engaged, and gender-balanced fan communities.
In North America, interest in women’s volleyball has accelerated as the U.S. market has welcomed its first two professional leagues, League One Volleyball (LOVB) and Major League Volleyball (MLV), reflecting strong consumer demand. In its second season, LOVB saw viewership increase 55% year over year; MLV has also delivered significant early momentum, with its inaugural postseason and championship broadcasts reaching nearly three million unique viewers. At the collegiate level, women’s volleyball continues to secure record crowds and build premium destination programming, further highlighting the sport’s rapid growth and commercial potential.
“The 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup will bring together the world’s most talented athletes and showcase the very best of women’s sport on a truly global stage,” said Marcelo Hargreaves Da Costa, Chief Product Officer at Volleyball World. “Volleyball is uniquely positioned, with some of the strongest female role models in sport, deeply engaged fan communities, and growing momentum around the world. As we continue to elevate the event and expand its reach, Horizon Sports & Experiences will be an important partner in helping us connect more fans and brands with these incredible athletes and the stories that make our sport so compelling.”
"Volleyball is positioned to become the next major women's sport in North America, and the timing couldn't be better,” said Craig Thompson, CEO FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup 2027. “We're excited to partner with HS&E to help build the commercial platform and fan activation needed to make the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup 2027 a defining moment for the sport.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with Volleyball World and the 2027 Women’s Volleyball World Cup Organizing Committee to bring new commercial and consumer awareness to the Women’s Volleyball World Cup and expand our growing portfolio of marquee women’s sports events, said David Levy, Co-CEO/Founder of Horizon Sports & Experiences. “As the biggest sporting entities in the world continue to focus on North America as the home of championship-caliber events, this tournament presents a significant opportunity for us to support the expansion of volleyball’s appeal, connect with new audiences, and deliver meaningful value to brand partners.”
The 2027 FIVB Women’s World Cup will be the first edition under its new name and the second to feature 32 national teams in an expanded format. The event is expected to build on the global momentum of women’s volleyball and further establish the sport as one of the fastest-growing properties in women’s sport.
