After the end of its inaugural editions for men and for women, Japan’s Daido Life SV.League announced its annual awards, with Ran Takahashi and Mizuki Tanaka claiming the most important individual awards for Championship Most Valuable Player.

Ran Takahashi, the charismatic 23-year-old outside hitter of reigning champions Suntory Sunbirds Osaka and Japanese international, was honored with the prestigious Championship MVP nomination in the men’s competition. On the women’s side, the captain of newly crowned champions Osaka Marvelous, 29-year-old outside Mizuki Tanaka, claimed the same recognition.

Among other awards handed out, Osaka Bluteon was nominated for Best Home Venue in recognition of their effort to create a packed-arena environment and an attractive atmosphere for their home games and selling out their home matches throughout the season. Nippon Steel Sakai Blazers were named Breakthrough of the Year for undergoing the most innovative change as a club. The Attack The Top Award went to Yuji Nishida of Suntory Sunbirds Osaka and to Ran Takahashi in recognition of their positive contributions to improving the appeal of the league as a whole and attracting more fans through their leadership and proactive public relations and promotional activities.
