Star outside hitter Brooke Nuneviller led the Supernovas to their key win, producing a team-high 20 points, with 18 kills, one block and one ace. Fellow outside hitter Reagan Cooper also had a solid night, registering 16 points, with 15 kills and one block.
Already guaranteed in first place, the Supernovas visited the Vibe on Sunday and triumphed 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 19-25, 25-23).
“It was good for our group,” head coach Laura Kuhn said. “We knew this road trip was going to be challenging and we were ready to make whatever adjustments we needed to. I’m proud of the way we responded.”
Before Sunday’s encounter, the team from Atlanta confirmed the second seed for the playoffs with a 3-2 (26-28, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21, 15-10) road win over the Ignite on Thursday.
The third-best team in the regular season, the Valkyries got a pair of road wins to end their campaign with 18 victories and ten losses. They defeated the Rise 3-2 (19-25, 17-25, 25-23, 25-21, 16-14) on Thursday and topped the Vegas Thrill 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 25-19, 25-19) on Friday.
