FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship MVP Simone Giannelli is one of the top players in the world supporting the Equal Jersey initiative, which highlights the importance of celebrating equality in volleyball.

Joining other prominent players in support of the initiative, including France libero Jenia Grebennikov, Japan opposite Yuji Nishida and USA setter Micah Christenson, Giannelli believes volleyball and equality go hand in hand. “Being close to people with different points of view helps me grow," he says. "Inclusivity is an incredible value and we should all carry it with us. Thanks to volleyball we have the chance to be with people with different points of view, in clubs and national teams. It turns us all into better people."

To me, volleyball means equality Simone Giannelli

Simone Giannelli led the Italian team to victory at the recently completed Men's World Championship, with an incredible performance against title-holders Poland in the final in Katowice. He will now rejoin his teammates in Perugia ahead of the 2022/23 club season in Italy.
