Opposite Thaisa McLeod, a member of the Peruvian national team, was awarded as the match’s MVP after she tallied 14 points – ten in kills, three blocks and one ace. Outside hitters Kiara Montes and Karla Ortiz added 14 and 12 respectively while Rebaza’s outside hitter Nicole da Silva added ten points for her team.
“We prepared really well for this match. Even though we won the first, we didn’t play the way we wanted,” McLeod commented at the end of the match. “We focused on being more aggressive with our serves and making fewer mistakes in offence, and those were the main factors we improved. These changes helped us control the match.”

Alianza will appear in their fourth final and their first since the 1992/1993 season. The team which won the season-opening Peruvian Cup, won their semifinal series against Circolo Sportivo Italiano after a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-18) triumph in the second match.
MVP and middle blocker Yujhamy Mosquera, outside hitter Brenda Lobaton and opposite Brenda Uribe were all key contributors in Alianza’s triumph with ten points each. The match’s top scorer was Circolo’s opposite Katherine Regalado with 14 points.
“I’m very emotional because it’s the first time in a while that Alianza get to be in the final”, Mosquera commented. “We have a very young roster and only players from Peru, and that makes us really proud. We’ll have a tough series against Regatas and will need to be even more focused for the matches against them.”
