Noumory Keita put on another out-of-this-world scoring spectacle in South Korea on Monday, matching his own V-League record of 54 points in a single match.

The 20-year-old Malian opposite led the Uijeongbu KB Insurance Stars to a 3-2 (25-18, 21-25, 25-22, 20-25, 15-13) home victory over Seoul Woori Card WooriWON, hammering 50 kills in offence at a 69% success rate, two serving aces and two stuff blocks towards a total tally of 54 points, exactly the same number of points as he scored in a single match some 15 months ago for the same team.

Across the net, Portuguese star Alexandre Ferreira also had a prolific game, producing as many as 34 points for the visiting team. His tally included 29 spikes at a 52% success rate, four aces and a kill block.

With the victory, second-placed KB Stars improved to an 18-14 win-loss record and 58 points, three points short of table leaders Incheon Korean Air Jumbos (20-11, 61) and eight clear of third-placed Woori Card (14-18, 50).

Keita is the best scorer of the 2021-2022 V-League so far. He has piled up an amazing 1,147 points, opening a gap of 270 points between him and his closest rival, USA’s Kyle Russell of Samsung Bluefangs Daejeon. Ferreira is fourth in the chart with 781 points to his name.
