Veteran setter Dani Lins led SESI Vôlei Bauru to their second victory in the 2024-2025 Brazilian Women’s Superliga and it was a big one as the team from the São Paulo state handed Fluminense their first defeat of the season on Thursday.
SESI ignored Fluminense’s homecourt advantage to produce a sweep (25-16, 25-14, 25-21) in the opening match of the third leg of the regular season that pushed the team up to second place in the Superliga standings with seven points (two wins, one loss). Fluminense are fourth with six points (two wins and one loss).

A London 2012 Olympic champion, the 39-year-old Dani Lins steered SESI to their dominant performance, feeding the team’s hitters accurate sets and also scoring herself. She ended the match with seven points (three kills, three blocks, one ace) and was awarded as the match’s MVP.
“We had a very intense week of training ahead of today’s match,” the setter reacted. “I worked hard to be ready to make the team play and everyone did their jobs very well. Our coach says that getting on the court with good energy makes a difference and I thought that today we all did that.”
